The 24th Chaos Communication Congress (24C3) closed its doors last Sunday in Berlin. Olivier gave a talk there and otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the event ;-)
The conference was the last edition of “Overtaking Proprietary Software Without Writing Code“. The video recording (100MB, mkv1) is of excellent quality and features legible slides, clear audio, and video mixing.
The talk slides (ODT or PDF) are also available separately. Finally, a two-page-excerpt has been published in the Congress Proceedings – all are available under a CC-BY-SA license.
Some very special thanks go to the CCC crew who participated towards travel costs and did such a superb job organising and running the congress.
We’re now heading to various other events in Europe with other conferences to come. See you there!
- the video format is OGG Theora inside a Matroska container. It can be read using the VLC program. Alternatively, an mpeg-4 (mp4) version is available. [↩]

I like the analogy of the car – I don’t care about the tech of cars such as what tires they use, this is how a majority of people view software. Enjoyed the talk – keep up the good work! :-)
nice talk… the points mentioned must be taken seriously for the free software community to expect large adoption from the end-users side.
